Now we know everyone is all caught up with Stranger Things and maybe even Riverdale but what about those Netflix titles that are not supported by endless memes and huge fan followings. Do not worry though, just because they have escaped the mainstream eye, does not make any of these titles any less epic as those we know and love.

Grab your remote, order in that heaping serving of Babar Pasta and kickback with your loved ones (that can include just you, by the way *insert multiple heart emojis*) so that you can reap the full enjoyment of these 6 Netflix hidden gems that you do not want to miss!

  1. The Good Doctor

Are you a fan of the infamous House M.D? Well, writer and producer David Shore came back with another beautiful planned medical drama which stars Bates Motel star Freddie Highmore as Dr. Shaun Murphy, a brilliant surgical resident with autism and savant syndrome. This show brings together phenomenal acting and even more phenomenal personal growth. Do not miss out!

  1. Bodyguard

Maybe you saw this when it aired originally back in 2018 but for anyone who missed the brief momentum behind Richard Madden’s stellar performance as the PTSD-stricken Sergeant David Budd, you can still binge this mini series and revel as all the twists and turns reveal themselves as the plot unfolds before you.

  1. Derry Girls

Quirky and upbeat, Derry Girls follows the lives of a group of teenagers in late 90’s Ireland as they struggle to find a way to come up with difficulties of national conflict brewing around them. Praised for its witty humor, charm and ability to appropriately portray the time era, I think you need to dedicate some of your time to getting familiar with this highly popular Irish piece.

  1. How To Build A Girl

How to Build a Girl is a 2019 coming-of-age comedy film, following the journey of Johanna Morrigan, an aspiring music journalist in 1990s Wolverhampton. Rebellious, cutting edge and aesthetically pleasing, Rotten Tomatoes critics narrate that “led by Beanie Feldstein’s charming performance, How to Build a Girl puts a disarmingly earnest spin on the familiar coming-of-age comedy formula.” Put it on in your next feel good mood!

  1. Meet Joe Black

An oldie but a goldie, with performances from big name celebrities such as Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt – Meet Joe Black is a conceptually interesting film which may be a little long but has a unique enough plot that you often find yourself unable to predict what will happen next. Some hate it, some love it and you won’t know which you are until you give it a shot.

  1. Community

A lot of people may not call this a hidden gem because it comes advertised on Netflix almost all the time. Yet despite that, most people have not actually jumped aboard the community train. It is an excellent sitcom that manages to carry humor in an unsuspecting way and builds each character perfectly according to their stereotype. Give it a try and see how much better you find it then the likes of Friends.
