The annual Met Gala is back in action in New York City and the fashion world is buzzing with excitement! This year’s theme is centered around the iconic late fashion legend, Karl Lagerfeld. The event is famous for its A-list guest list and over-the-top outfits, featuring plenty of pearls, starched collars, and black and white ensembles to pay tribute to Lagerfeld’s signature style. The event is an invitation-only fundraiser for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and drew in about 400 guests.

Lagerfeld’s beloved cat, Choupette, also received some recognition with at least two celebrities dressing up as her. This year’s theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” asked attendees to wear clothes that honor Karl’s unique and legendary fashion sense. Karl Lagerfeld was a fashion force to be reckoned with, having been at the helm of some of the biggest fashion houses in the world, including Chanel and Fendi, for decades.

The cut-out craze continues with Jennifer Lopez in Ralph Lauren for the Met Gala 2023.

Cai Xukun did a contemporary take on the classic white shirt and black suit look that was Lagerfeld’s signature look.

Rita Ora in Prabal Gurung. The chiffon with lace applique makes for a sexy, spooky look.

Bad Bunny and Diddy both opted for floral suits with trails. Bad Bunny’s suit was by Simon Porte Jacquemus. It was backless and had a 26 foot trail. Diddy’s suit is from his own line, Sean John Clothing.

Alia Bhatt played it safe with an all-white look inspired by Claudia Schiffer’s bridal look. She wore Prabal Gurung for her first-ever Met Gala.
