Interesting story coming out of Pakistan, a woman  who was ordered to be gang raped by her tribal council back in 2002, has married. Mukhtar Mai is her name, and she gained some fame from this horrible ordeal, she actually became somewhat of a poster child for women’s rights all around the world, her home country of  Punjab,Pakistan which is mostly Muslim, shuns women who have been raped, these women usually end up taking there own lives because they are treated as cast-offs of society, no one wants to really marry them. Mukhtar was actually punished for an alleged crime her brother committed, he was accused of having an affair with an upper-class woman in society!?  The tribal council ordered that  his sister Mukhtar be gang raped for his alleged crime, well a police officer who actually was protecting her at one time, asked her to marry him…….. she said yes…..he actually threatened suicide if she did not marry him. Mukhtar Mai is now the proud second wife of Officer Nasir Abbas Gabol, his first wife approved of this marriage………..Muslim men in that country are allowed four wives!……..Once again thank God you live in America!
